Péter Farkas (born August 14, 1968) is a Hungarian wrestler and Olympic champion in Greco-Roman wrestling.
Olympics
Farkas competed at the 1992 Summer Olympics in Barcelona where he received a gold medal in Greco-Roman wrestling, the middleweight class.[1]
Criminal conviction
On December 10, 2009 he was convicted in absentia to seven years imprisonment for growing marijuana. He was thought to be hiding in Thailand on counterfeit documents.[2] He was arrested on December 26 in Andorra.[3] He was sentenced to 7 years in prison. He was released in August 2014.[4]
