WKZI is a Christian radio station licensed to Casey, Illinois, broadcasting on 800 kHz AM. The station is owned by Word Power, Inc.[2]
History
The station began broadcasting December 14, 1963, and was owned by Paul Dean Ford.[3][4] The station aired a country music format from the 1960s until 1992.[5][1][3][6] The station was taken silent in 1992.[6] In 1993, WKZI was transferred to Word Power, Inc., a nonprofit controlled by the Ford family, and the station adopted its current Christian format.[7][8]
