Slovenský plynárenský priemysel, a.s. (abbr. SPP; Slovak: literally "Slovak Gas Industry) is the largest and the most important Slovak energy supplier.[citation needed] Since 2012, the company has been successfully operating also in the electricity supply market. [citation needed]

SPP guarantees reliable[citation needed], secure[citation needed] and competitive[citation needed] supplies of gas and electricity including complementary services in all regions of Slovakia. It supplies natural gas or electricity to 1.33 million points of supply.

In addition to supplying energy, SPP focuses on providing energy-related services, smart power solutions[buzzword] and development of alternative fuels such as CNG, LNG or biomethane.

Social responsibility activities of the company are implemented through EkoFond, n.f. and the SPP Foundation.

Since 2014, the owner of 100 % of the company’s shares has been the Slovak Republic, which exercises its shareholder rights through the Ministry of Economy of the Slovak Republic

Significant subsidiaries are SPP CNG, s.r.o., SPP CZ, a. s., and SPP Infrastructure, a. s., which are responsible for transportation, distribution and storage of natural gas in underground storage facilities in Slovakia and for sale of compressed natural gas (CNG) as an ecological alternative to traditional fuels.
