Evergage is a cloud-based software that allows users to collect, analyze, and respond to user behavior on their websites and web applications in real-time.[1] The company currently positions itself as a "real-time personalization and customer data platform (CDP)."[2]

The company was founded as Apptegic in 2010 by Karl Wirth and Greg Hinkle, who met while working at Red Hat.[3] In May 2012, Evergage was a finalist in the TechCrunch Disrupt Startup Battlefield and shortly thereafter launched its cloud-based service.[4][5][5] In August, 2013, the company changed its name to Evergage.[6]

In 2015, Evergage expanded its capabilities to include A/B and multivariate testing,[7] as well as automated product and content recommendations driven by machine learning[1]. The platform also added personalization support for mobile apps[8] and, in 2016, open-time email personalization,[9] and triggered email in 2017.[10] Evergage acquired e-commerce and email personalization provider MyBuys in 2018[11]. In 2020, Evergage was acquired by Salesforce.[12][13]

Funding

Evergage raised $10 million led by Santa Monica-based Arrowroot Capital in Series C funding in August 2017 and $10 million in Series B funding in January 2016;[14] $4M in Series A funding led by G20 Ventures in May, 2014;[15] and $2M in seed funding in May, 2012 from Point Judith Capital, Advanced Technology Ventures, Jit Saxena, and other angel investors.[4]
