AREWA24 is the first all Hausa language entertainments television and satellite channel showing in DSTV, GOtv and Statime showcasing life of Northern region Nigeria.[1][2]

Foundation

The satellite channel was founded and sponsored by the United States Department of State in 2013 and launched on Nilesat in Nigeria with about $7,000,000 million funds and owned by Equal access running international development and communication with aim that specialized in women, children and youth learning, culture entertainments and communication for northern Nigeria people using Hausa language.[3][4][5]

It also features music production and sport showcasing in Hausa language which was launched in 2018.[6]

It started operating with the Kannywood movies hausa cinema based in Kano with agreement between the two company directors.[7]

And also in partnership features the Girl Effect launched in 2018, a programs supporting the success of girls in northern Nigeria.[8]

In 2017 they partnered with the Eutelsat Communication to transponder its capacity as a free air in footprints of Sub Saharan Africa for hausa speaking people living in African continent.[9]
