Wolfwalkers is an upcoming American-Irish animated adventure film directed by Academy Award nominee Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart.

Produced by Cartoon Saloon, it is expected to be released theatrically and on the Apple TV+ platform in 2020.[1][2]

Plot

In a time of superstition and magic, when wolves are seen as demonic and nature an evil to be tamed, a young apprentice hunter, Robyn, comes to Ireland with her father to wipe out the last pack. But when Robyn saves a wild native girl, Mebh, their friendship leads her to discover the world of the WOLFWALKERS and transform her into the very thing her father is tasked to destroy.

Development

On September 8, 2018, Apple acquired Tomm Moore and Ross Stewart's Wolfwalkers from a script by Will Collins.[3] The film is an original concept that was created by Moore and Stewart, and its animation will utilize a unique 2D style rotating between a woodblock aesthetic and loose expressive linework.[1][2]

Release

It will debut on the Apple TV+ digital platform as an exclusive film, while also released theatrically in select global territories in the fall of 2020.[1]
