Quintus Servilius Caepio (adoptive father of Brutus)
Quintus Servilius Caepio (died 59 BC), was the son of Quintus Servilius Caepio and Livia, and a full brother of Servilia Major and Servilia Minor. He was a half-brother of Marcus Porcius Cato the Younger who was very fond of him. In 71 BC, during the Third Servile War, Caepio served as a tribune in the army of Marcus Licinius Crassus. In his will he adopted Marcus Junius Brutus, the son of his sister Servilia Major. For a period of time, Brutus used the name Quintus Servilius Caepio Brutus to honor his uncle.[1][2]
