HMS Elizabeth

Twelve ships of the Royal Navy have borne the name HMS Elizabeth. In addition, a 1914 battleship was named HMS Queen Elizabeth, and an aircraft carrier of that name was cancelled in 1967; also a new HMS Queen Elizabeth carrier is currently in trials. Most of these ships have been named in honour of Queen Elizabeth I of England:
