A Fragment of Fear is a 1965 thriller novel by the British writer John Bingham.

Synopsis

A young man recovering in Italy from a recent car crash, is shocked when a kindly elderly lady he has befriended is murdered. Unsolved by the Italian police, he tries to make some investigations when returning to London only to find himself the target of an increasingly intense campaign of intimidation that has him questioning his own sanity.

Adaptation

In 1970 it was turned into the film Fragment of Fear starring David Hemmings, Flora Robson and Arthur Lowe.[1] The adaptation involved significant changes from the original story, but retains its overall plot.
