Meghna Group of Industries (MGI) is one of the largest Bangladeshi industrial conglomerates.[5] The industries under this conglomerate include chemicals, cement, consumer products, real estate, insurance, securities, utilities etc.[6]
MGI was established by Mostafa Kamal,[7] a pioneer Industrial leader in the private sector of Bangladesh.[8] The group started its journey in 1976 as a trading company and opened its first manufacturing facility in 1989. The group is currently made up of 45 different companies.[9] It also set up the Bangladesh's first private economic zone.[10][11]
