A sacred tree is a tree which is sacred. They featured in, for example, the ancient Greek, Celtic and Germanic mythologies. They continue to hold profound meaning in Shinto, religion in China, Altaic languages and Akan people, among other institutions. Groups are known as sacred groves.[1]
