Sachin ahir (Template:Lang-mr) (born 21 March 1972 in Mumbai, India) is a member of the Shivsena, formerly of NCP.[3] He was Member of the Legislative Assembly from Worli constituency.[2][4]

Community service

Ahir and his wife have established the Shree Sankalp Pratishthan charitable trust.[5] The trust has been involved in organisation of the Worli Festival[6] and Dahi Handi events during the festival of Govinda.[7]

With Trade Union

Sachin Ahir began his work with the Rashtriya Mill Mazdoor Sangh in 1993. After holding the post of Secretary, he was eventually elected as the President of this union. He has also been at the helm of the Maharashtra Rajya Rashtriya Kamgar Sangh since 1996. This union houses around 30 thousand workers from more than 250 factories, establishments in Maharashtra. He has successfully led the Mazagaon Dock, Mahindra and Mahindra Union, etc. Sachin Ahir's work with unorganized labour has been revolutionary. He also influenced the labour movement by successfully carrying out agreements for increment in salaries of the workers in all these industries. He left a lasting impression on the labour movement throughout the nation by conducting campaign against unfair labour welfare practices.
