Mark Golding
Mark J. Golding (born 1967) is a leading Jamaican attorney, politician and member of the Senate of Jamaica from 2007 to 2017. From 2012 to 2016 he was Minister of Justice. He is elected Member of Parliament for South St Andrew in 2017 and is the chairman of the People's National Party.[1][2]
Background
He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford University and University College London.
He began his career in 1990 joining HMF in 1993 and was among the founding member of Dehring Bunting & Golding Limited and Scotia Investments Jamaica Limited being the director. He was director of Caribbean Information and Credit Rating Services Limited, chairman of Mona Rehabilitation Foundation, director of GraceKennedy Limited and Bank of Nova under the Scotia Limited.[3][4]
Political career
He joined the Joint Select Committee of the Houses of Parliament and the Select Committee of the Jamaican Senate, before that he was representative of Private Sector Organisation of Jamaica. He became member of the Task Force on establishing Financial Services Commission by the minster of finance, he served as a member of the Bank of Jamaica task force.[4][3]
He was one of the Leading Commercial Lawyers in Jamaica by both Chambers Global and IFLR.
