Shevchenkove (Template:Lang-uk; Template:Lang-ru) is an urban-type settlement in Ukraine in Kharkiv Oblast. It serves as the administrative center of Shevchenkove Raion. Main railway station in Schevchenkove is Schevchenkove-South.

History

It started in 1860 as a village named Bulacelovka after the owner of that land, Bulacel. It was located in Kharkov Governorate of the Russian Empire.

A local newspaper is published here since February 1935[1].

During World War II it was under German occupation from February 1942 to February 1943.

Urban-type settlement since 1957[2].

In January 1989 the population was 7856 people[3].

In January 2013 the population was 7100 people[4].

In January 2018 the population was 6875 people[5].

The settlement contains a railway station[2] and a three-star hotel[6], the Kharkov.
