The Outward Room is an abandoned American film. It starred Susan Peters who was paralysed during a hunting accident. MGM wanted to complete the film incorporating the accident but Peters refused.[1]

It was based on a novel by Millen Brand. MGM announced the film in January 1944. It would star Susan Peters and Gene Kelly and be directed by Jules Dassin.[2] In February MGM said Robert Young would co star.[3] The film was finished but MGM did not want to release it. Then Peters had a hunting accident on 1 January 1945. MGM offered to complete using Peters' accident but she refused.[4]
