Wingate School is a British international school in Arona, Tenerife, Spain. Mr. and Margaret Green founded the school in 1982, and it initially had 7 students. It serves levels foundation (beginning age 3) through sixth form college.[1]
"Wingate School aims to develop the whole student by instilling family values, knowledge and skills to become an independent,
self-reliant learner with the strength of character to make positive contributions to an ever-changing world."
Wingate has been officially recognised as a "good" school by BSO (British School Overseas inspectorate) https://www.schoolinspectionservice.co.uk/wingate-school/ and has achieved excellent results in IGCSE's. Some students have achieved "Best in Spain" and "Best in the World" in some exams. There are now over 480 students from over 20 different nationalities, and the "working language" of the school, in lessons and during break-time is always English. This creates a high (bilingual) level of English amongst all students and ensures a complete understanding of all subjects, enabling students to achieve their potential academically and socially, and allows them to be fully prepared for the real world.
