Overview
Main Event Entertainment operates family entertainment centers which feature billiards, bowling, arcade games, virtual reality games, laser tag, rock climbing, mini golf, gravity ropes course, and karaoke. Main Event offers facilities and services for birthday parties. The company also provides food and beverage, as well as meeting and event space with accommodations for corporate meetings or group gatherings; and event facility rental services. Main Event Entertainment was founded in 1998 and is based in Plano, Texas, with locations throughout the United States. Main Event competes with Dave & Buster's, EVO Entertainment, Round One Entertainment, and Topgolf.[1][2][3][4] In June 2020 Ardent Leisure sold a 24% shareholding to RedBank Capital Partners.[5]
Operations
Food and Drink
Each Main Event location offers full restaurant services, with items like appetizers, pizza, hamburgers, salads, and unique desserts. Each location also has a full-service bar, serving beer, wine, mixed drinks, and a bar menu[6]. Main Event also offers "food and fun" packages for delivery and curbside pickup through third-party delivery services like Uber Eats.
Private Parties and Events
Main Event offers Private Party and Corporate Event space at each of their locations, as well as dedicated party planners, who help customers organize and coordinate their group events[7]. Birthday, company, corporate, retirement, anniversary and other types of parties can be accommodated. Main Event has been recognized as the No. 1 place in America to celebrate a birthday. Main Event also offers meeting room space and A/V capabilities for business events and hosts team building, providing facilitators and programs designed to improve communication and productivity[8].
Corporate Giving and Community Relations
Main Event is a proud partner of Special Olympics International as well as The Birthday Party Project. Main Event has sponsored the Special Olympics since March 2019, with a focus on inclusiveness for all. Main Event has hosted numerous events and bowling tournaments at its centers for athletes that are part of Special Olympics. In November 2019, Main Event and The Birthday Party Project kicked off their partnership by celebrating birthdays for over 400 kids in homeless or transitional home living situations at the company's location in Grapevine, Tex. The kids received two hours of complimentary games and activities at Main Event. Main Event is also an official partner of the Dallas Cowboys football team.
