Hantz Group is a business financial services conglomerate in the U.S. founded by John Hantz.[1] The company operates in Michigan and Ohio with offerings including banking, casualty insurance, financial planning, health benefit plans, retirement plans for companies, estate planning, and tax services.[2] It also operates the Hantz Farms farming division.[2] It is based in Southfield, Michigan.[2]

Hantz Farms

The Hantz Farms division is working to develop Hantz Woodlands, an urban farm in Detroit, with the purchase of a blighted area of mostly abandoned homes to be razed to make way for the park. Cash would be paid for the property, the city's maintenance costs would be reduced, and the area would be cleaned up and planted with hardwood trees.[3] It would be the largest urban farm in the U.S.[4]

John Hantz

John Hantz lives in the historic Indian Village neighborhood of Detroit, near the planned Hantz Woodlands project.
