Miskovice is a municipality and village in the Kutná Hora District in the Central Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, located 4.5 km west of Kutná Hora. It has about 1,100 inhabitants.
History
First written notice about Miskovice is from year 1131.
Municipal parts
Villages of Bylany, Hořany, Mezholezy and Přítoky also belong to the municipality.
Archeology
In 2003, the first Czech fossil bones of a non-avian dinosaur were found in an abandoned quarry near Miskovice. These belong to a small ornithopod related to the popular genus Iguanodon.[2]
