Celestus is a genus of anguid lizards containing about 30 living species and one extinct species.[1] Lizards from the genera Celestus and Diploglossus share the common name of galliwasps.

Nota bene: a binomial authority in parentheses indicates that the species was originally described in a genus other than Celestus.
