Jeunesse Sportive de la Saoura (Arabic: الشبيبة الرياضية للساورة), known simply as JS Saoura or JSS for short, is an Algerian football club based in the town of Méridja in the Béchar Province.[2] They take their name from the Saoura valley of southwestern Algeria. The club was founded in 2008 and its colours are green and yellow. Their home stadium, Stade 20 Août 1955, has a capacity of 20,000 spectators. The club is currently playing in the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.

History

In the 2009–2010 season, JS Saoura won the West division of the 2009–10 Inter-Régions Division.[3] The previous season, JS Saoura was playing in the Regional Béchar League, where it also finished first and won promotion to the Inter-Régions Division.

In the 2010–2011 season, JS Saoura finished first in the Centre-Ouest division of the Championnat National de Football Amateur to win promotion to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 for the first time in its history.[4]

On April 17, 2012, JS Saoura beat SA Mohammadia 3–1 in their week 28 match up of the 2011-12 Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 2 to guarantee promotion to the Algerian Ligue Professionnelle 1.[5]
