Notturno is an upcoming Italian-French-German documentary film directed by Gianfranco Rosi. It will have its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September 2020.
Plot
Shot over the course of three years between Syria, Iraq, Kurdistan, and Lebanon, Notturno follows different people from near war zones in the Middle East, trying to start again with their everyday lives.[2]
Production
In January 2018, it was announced Gianfranco Rosi would direct the film, with Météore Films distributing the film in France.[3][4]
Release
The film will have its world premiere at the 77th Venice International Film Festival in September 2020.[5] It will also screen at the Toronto International Film Festival and New York Film Festival in September 2020.[6][7][8] It was also selected to screen at the Telluride Film Festival in September 2020, prior to its cancellation due to the COVID-19 pandemic.[9]
It will be released in Italy on 9 September 2020 by 01 Distribution.[10]
