Krunoslav Rendulić (Serbo-Croatian pronunciation: [krȕnoslȁv rèndȕlitɕ]; born 26 September 1973) is a Croatian former professional football player who played as a defender. He is the current manager of Croatian First Football League club HNK Šibenik.

Playing career

His professional career spans over two decades. During this time, Rendulić mainly played for the clubs in the Croatian First League, with a two-year stint in the Slovenian PrvaLiga. In total, he collected over 450 appearances during his career; 368 in Croatian top flight which puts him in top 5 of most appearances in the Croatian First League. Rendulić finished his professional career at the end of the 2013–14 season, starting his work as manager.

Playing with Hajduk Split, Rijeka and Interblock, Rendulić had won the 2000–01 Croatian First League, 2005–06 Croatian Cup, the 2007–08 and the 2008–09 Slovenian Cups, and the 2008 Slovenian Supercup.

Managerial career

Rendulić started his managerial career in 2014 as assistant manager under head coach Dragan Skočić at Foolad. They left club in 2016. In 2017 Rendulić started to work as assistant manager under the coaching staff of Al-Arabi manager Luka Bonačić.

Istra 1961

On 28 October 2018, Rendulić was appointed new head coach of Croatian First Football League club Istra 1961, succeeding Curro Torres at that position.[1] On 4 March 2019, following the series of poor performance - seven defeats in eleven games, he terminated the contract.[2]

Šibenik

On 20 June 2019, Rendulić was appointed new head coach of Croatian Second Football League club HNK Šibenik, where he had played for two years in his professional career.[3][4][5]

On 17 August, he debuted as Šibenik manager in 3–2 home win over Hajduk Split II.[6] On 25 September, Rendulić led them in Round of 16 match of the 2019–20 Croatian Cup, in which Šibenik beat 5–1 Slavonija Požega.[7] On 3 December, playing in the cup quarter-final match, Šibenik was defeated by Lokomotiva, which was leading by former Šibenik manager Goran Tomić, by a score of 0–4.[8]

On 20 May 2020, after the Croatian Football Federation had canceled the 2019–20 Second League season due to the COVID-19 pandemic in Croatia, Šibenik was promoted to the first tier of the Croatian football league system.[9][10]
