Al-Quwaisat class is a Landing Ship Tank (LST) of the United Arab Emirates Navy. It was built by Malaysian company Shin Yang based on the company's 80m LST designed. Two ships completed and in service with UAE navy.[1][2]

Characteristics

Al-Quwaisat class has a length of 80 metres (262 ft 6 in), a beam of 16.8 metres (55 ft 1 in), and a draft of 4 metres (13 ft 1 in). The ship has a complement of 106 crew. She has a capacity to carry cargo, marine troops, tanks and helicopter. She has a displacement of 2046 tonnes and has a speed of 12 knots (22 km/h). The ship is armed with light defensive weapons such as 12.7 mm heavy machine guns.[3]

Major operation

Al-Quwaisat class took part in UAE navy operation in Yemen conflict.[4] She involved in logistic role to support allied force in the operation.[5]
