Reer Ahmed Nur (Somali: Reer Axmed Nuur Arabic:رير أحمد نور) also known as Reer Ahmed Nur Dufle are a Benadiri/12 Koofi clan mainly from the southern coastal cities of; Marka[1] and Mogadishu.[2][3]

Overview

The Ahmed Nur clan are said to be of a Aw Hassan ancestry but according some sources are of Shiikhall Gendershe[3] ancestry or Isaaq[4] ancestry. This clan are traditionally shop owners in the Benadir big towns and cities or traders and live near the busy Cabdalla Shideye area in Hamar Weyne[3] district of Mogadishu. This clan is part of the Bandaboow clan confederacy in Hamar Weyne, however in Marka they are a standalone clan and fall under the bigger local Banaadiri confederacy 12 Koofi.
