Clare Samuel Hunter (December 1, 1886 – April 8, 1940) was an American football coach.

Coaching career

Hunter was the head football coach for the Michigan State Normal Normalites (now called the Eastern Michigan University Eagles) located in Ypsilanti, Michigan and he held that position for the 1909 season. His coaching record at Michigan Normal was 2 wins and 4 losses.[1][2]

He was an alumnus of the University of Michigan as well as Eastern Michigan.[3] During his time at Eastern Michigan, he resided at 119 North Adams Street at Ypsilanti.[4]

He later resided in Boise, Idaho, where he died in 1940.[5]
