Rafia Obaid Ghubash is a Dubayi psychiatrist and epidemiologist, former president of the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain in the years 2000-2009.[1] She is also President of the Arab Network for Women in Science and Technology, a network to help women scientists attain leadership positions and to attract more women into science.

Rafia takes a strong interest in the education of Arab women, receiving an award for “Middle East Women's Educational Achievement” in 2002.

In 2006 Rafia Ghubash was nominated to become a councillor for the World Future Council.
