Luis Heibardo García (born December 13, 1996) is a Venezuelan professional baseball pitcher for the Houston Astros of Major League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2020.

Career

García signed with the Houston Astros as an international free agent on July 2, 2017.[1] He spent the 2017-2019 seasons in the Astros minor league system with the DSL Astros, Quad Cities River Bandits, Tri-City ValleyCats, and Fayetteville Woodpeckers.[2]

García was called up to the majors for the first time on August 29, 2020.[3] He made his major league debut on September 4, 2020 against the Los Angeles Angels.

In 2020 he was 0-1 with a 2.92 ERA in 12.1 innings over the course of five games (one start).[4] García made his postseason debut and started Game 5 of the 2020 American League Championship Series against the Tampa Bay Rays. He pitched two scoreless innings as the Astros went on to win this game.[5]
