Biwi Aur Makan is a 1966 Hindi film directed by Hrishikesh Mukherjee. It is one of the masterpieces of Hrishikesh Mukherjee and was remade in different languages. This movie is actually the Hindi version of the famous Bengali movie Joy Ma Kali Boarding. The movie was remade in Marathi in 1989 as Ashi Hi Banwa Banwi,[1] in Telugu in 1991 as Chitram Bhallare Vichitram, in Kannada in 2003 as Olu Saar Bari Olu, in Hindi in 2009 as Paying Guests, in Punjabi in 2014 as Mr & Mrs 420 and in Bengali in 2017 as Jio Pagla. Some critics[who?] believe it is one of the finest comedy movies of India, parallel with Chupke Chupke, Padosan and Golmal, but is underrated.
Watch this film for Mehmood's timing and Biswajeet's beauty as Choti Bahu, Kesto Mukherjee's facial expression as Badi Bahu. The film was released with music composed by Hemanta Mukherjee. The film stars Biswajit, Kalpana Mohan, Kesto Mukherjee and Mehmood in lead roles.[2][3]
