Bartho Okolo

Professor Bartho Ndubuisi Okolo, was the 13th Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, is a Professor of Microbiology. He was preceded by Professor Osita Chinedu Nebo and succeeded by Professor Benjamin Chukwuma Ozumba[1][2] Allegations of fund misappropriation trailed his administration after he left,[3] however, development of new structures happened within the same administration.
Bartho as he is fondly known for short, initiated and also implemented various projects during his five years tenure. He was blamed for being the reason behind the underdevelopment of the institution why a few ascribed the factor for the underdevelopment to the state the nation itself is.[4]
He was able to carry out some notable development which can not be forgotten till date. The task he carried out during his administration range from enhancing scholarship and learning environment, through edifice renewal and upgrade, human capital renewal, staff welfare to international strategic alliances and exchanges, including, igniting a true town-gown partnership in the institution.[5]
