The Gloaming is an Australian web television series that premiered on Stan on 1 January 2020 and will be distributed internationally by ABC Studios.[1] The eight-part drama is set and filmed in Hobart, Tasmania.[2] A second season is currently in development.[3]
Premise
The Gloaming is the story of an unorthodox and troubled policewoman, Molly McGee, who leads an investigation into the murder of an unidentified woman. McGee has to team up with Alex O'Connell, a man she has not spoken to for 20 years. They discover that the murder has links to a cold case from the past.[4]

Production
The Gloaming was created by Victoria Madden and produced by Madden and John Molloy, in partnership with Disney's ABC Studios International, who will distribute it outside Australia.[6]
Release
In Australia, The Gloaming was premiered on the streaming platform Stan on 31 December 2019. While the official release date is 1 January 2020, all episodes were made available to stream a couple of hours before midnight.
