Todd Krasnow is an entrepreneur and businessman from Newton, Massachusetts. He was an early-stage venture investor and was part of the founding management team at Staples.[1] He is chairman of the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory Advisory Board, and of the Harvard Business School Rock Entrepreneurship Center Advisory board.[2]

Early life and career

Krasnow holds an AB from Cornell University and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He was a member of the Cornell University Alumni Council and the Harvard Business School Rock Entrepreneurship Center Advisory Board. Also, chairman of the Harvard-Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory Advisory Board. For the academic year 2006–07, he was entrepreneur-in-residence at Harvard Business School.[3][4][5]

In 1992 he was appointed senior vice president of joint ventures at Staples.[6]

He was executive vice president of sales and marketing and was part of the founding management team at Staples from 1986 until 1998. He procured the naming rights to the Staples Center in LA for Staples. He won a gold "Clio" award for the best retail advertising in the United States.[2][7][5]

Krasnow co-founded Zoots in 1998 and was co-founder and CEO of Zoots dry cleaning chain across America. He was chairman of Zoots until its sale in 2008.[1][8][9] The company's sales in 2000 were $30 million and had 41 retail locations and 124 home-delivery routes with nearly 1,000 employees.[10] In 2008 sold off its operating assets.[11]

He was founding director and investor in Carbonite, Highland Capital Partners' consumer fund, director of The Tile Shop, and a board member of C&S Wholesale Grocers and Kids II.[4][2][12]
