Rron Broja (born 9 April 1996) is a Kosovo Albanian professional footballer who plays as a defensive midfielder for Albanian club FK Partizani Tirana.

Early life

Broja was born in Mitrovica, FR Yugoslavia from Kosovo Albanian parents. He also holds Kosovan[a] and Albanian passports.[1]

Club career

Gent

In January 2015. Broja signed to Belgian club Gent.[2]

Loan at Deinze

On 3 July 2015. Broja joined Belgian First Division B side Deinze, on a season-long loan.[3]

Trepça'89

On 1 July 2016. Broja joined to Football Superleague of Kosovo side Trepça'89.[citation needed]

Shkupi

On 10 January 2018. Broja joined to Macedonian First Football League side Shkupi.[4][5] On 18 February 2018, he made his debut in a 0–3 home defeat against Shkëndija after being named in the starting line-up.

International career

Albania

Under-21

On 8 June 2015. Broja received a call-up from Albania U21 for the friendly matches against Kazakhstan U21 and Sweden U21.[6] On 16 June 2015, he made his debut with Albania U21 in friendly match against Sweden U21 after being named in the starting line-up.

Kosovo

Under-21

On 13 March 2016, it was announced that Broja had accepted an invitation to represent Kosovo.[7] On 21 March 2017. Broja received a call-up from Kosovo U21 for a 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualification match against Republic of Ireland U21[8] and making his debut after being named in the starting line-up.[9]

Senior

On 22 January 2018, Broja received a call-up from Kosovo for the friendly match against Azerbaijan.[10] However, the match was cancelled, and therefore he was unable to make his debut.[11] Broja later earned his first cap for Kosovo on 12 January 2020 in a friendly match against Sweden, which finished as a 0–1 loss.[12]
