Strike Bautista Revilla (born March 2, 1970)[1] is a Filipino politician and incumbent Representative of Cavite's 2nd District in the Philippine House of Representatives. He previously served as Mayor of Bacoor. A member of the NUP party, he was also a former member of the board of directors of the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) from August 2005 to March 2007. Revilla is one of the 70 representatives who voted to deny the franchise renewal of ABS-CBN on July 10, 2020.[2]

Background

Born as Edwin Mortel Bautista, he is the sixty first child of Jose Acuña Bautista (Ramon Bautista Revilla, Sr.) and the fifth child of Azucena Guzman Mortel Bautista. He is the younger brother of incumbent Senator Ramon "Bong" Revilla Jr. He finished his elementary education in Jesus Good Shepherd School in 1983, and attended high school in San Dimas High School in Los Angeles County, California from 1983 to 1987. He finished Commerce major in Management in Colegio de San Juan de Letran in Manila, and earned his Masters in Business Administration in the same institution.

Prior to entering politics, Strike has had his business acumen tested in managing various Revilla family interests. He is best known for managing Angelus Eternal Garden (memorial park), with branches in Bacoor and Imus, Cavite.

Political career

The young Revilla was exposed into politics at the age of 25 when he was first elected as councilor of Bacoor for one term in 1995 and even became its number one councilor in terms of the number of votes garnered. In 1998, he was elected as a member of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan of Cavite where he served two terms until he declined to run for re-election in 2004. He was then appointed by President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo to be one of the members of the PCSO board of directors in 2005.
