Periyar Bus Stand is a central bus terminus for local buses in Madurai in Tamil Nadu, India. The bus stand is one of the largest bus terminus in Tamil Nadu.
History
Central Bus stand was opened in the year 1921. It was later renamed as Periyar Bus stand in 1970s. This is completely demolished and re construction started in the year 2019 with a budget of 153 crore rupees. [1]
