John Ray Broxson (June 10, 1932[1] – December 9, 2019)[2] was an American politician in the state of Florida.

Broxson was born in Holley, Florida, the son Bart Dell and Annie Rachel (née Gordon) Broxson. He attended Southwestern Assemblies of God University in Texas and works in the real estate and insurance business. He served as sheriff of Santa Rosa County, Florida from 1959 to 1961, succeeding his father, who was killed in a car accident.[3] He was elected to the State Senate in 1966 and served the 1st district until 1971.[4][5] His brother, Doug Broxson also served in the Florida House of Representatives.[6]
