Tan Sri Mohd Hassan Marican is a former Chief Executive of Petronas.[1] He is currently a Member of the Council of Eminent Persons of Malaysia[2] and the president of Khazanah Nasional Berhad.
Early life and education
Tan Sri Hassan was born in Sungai Petani, Kedah on 18 October 1952.[3][4] He studied in Malay College Kuala Kangsar in 1971.[5]
Career
Tan Sri Hassan Marican was a partner of an accounting firm named Hanafiah Raslan & Mohamed from 1981 to 1989.[6][7]
Tan Sri Hassan was the CEO of Petronas Nasional Berhad from 1989 till 10 February 2010.[1] He was appointed by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad as a Member of the Council of Elders of Malaysia along with Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz, Tun Daim Zainuddin, Robert Kuok and Professor Jomo Kwame Sundaram in 2018.[8] He was appointed a Director of Khazanah Nasional Berhad on July the same year.[9] Tan Sri Hassan is also the Senior Advisor of Temasik International Advisors,[10] the Chairman of Sembcorp Marine, the Director of the Regional Economic Development Authority of Sarawak.[11]
