"Holy Word" is a song by Australian band I'm Talking. It was released in July 1986[1] as the second single from the band's debut studio album, Bear Witness. The song peaked at number 9 on the Australian Kent Music Report, becoming the band's third top ten single.[2] Unlike their previous singles, group member Zan Abeyratne sings lead vocal on this track.

At the time of the recording, there were tensions that would eventually spell the end of the group as Kate Ceberano was absent from the recording of the single, resulting in Abeyratne taking over the lead. In an interview with the Herald Sun, Ceberano remembers that missing those sessions “It will always be a thorn in my side.” On the other hand, “It was awesome for me to get to sing that song,” Abeyratne says. “It was a special song for me. It came out and we got whisked off overseas so I didn’t get to fully experience it all.”

The song's accompanying video, shot in a Melbourne night club called Chasers, featured a young Magda Szubanski among the dancers.[3] The single also appeared on the soundtrack to the 1987 horror film Howling III during a party scene.[4]

In February 2020, the group released a 6-track remix single of "Holy Word".[5]
