Theerpugal Virkapadum (transl. Judgements are for sale) is an upcoming Tamil-language Indian film directed by Dheran, starring Sathyaraj, Smruthi Venkat and Harish Uthaman with others.[1][2][3][4][5][6] An action thriller based on a true story, the film has Sathyaraj playing the solo hero again after a string of successful supporting roles like Katappa.[7] The film is completely shot in 8K resolution and has cinematography by Garudavega Anji.[8] The film also have a Telugu version titled as Emergency, targeting 2020 summer release.[9]

Summary

The film in the lines about a father, who is forced to fight against the evil minds that had affected his only daughter.[10]

Production

Debutant director Dheran who has directed several advertisements brought in actor Sathyaraj to play the solo lead in Theerpugal Virkapadum, produced by Sajeev MeeraSahib Rawther under his banner, Honey Bee Creations. Dheeran took three years to complete the script before approaching the producer. Actress Smruthi Venkat of Thadam fame was signed to play the daughter character of Sathyaraj with actors Harish Uthaman, Lizzie Antony and Madhusudhan in important roles.[11] Sathyaraj refused to opt for a body double in action sequences as per reports[12] and completed his dubbing in a single stretch of 12 hours.[13] The film was completed in three schedules and was primarily shot in Chennai.[14]

In August 2020, producers indicated the film was in post-production.[15]
