Mandy Cronin is an American ice hockey executive and former player. She is currently the general manager of the Toronto Six of the National Women's Hockey League. She was formerly the general manager of the NWHL's Buffalo Beauts and was one of the co-founders of the CWHL.[1][2]
Playing career
Cronin played four seasons for the University of Maine from 1998 to 2002. She would serve as team captain in her final two seasons.[3]
After graduating, she signed in the now defunct National Women's Hockey League. After five years in that league, she was one of the seven players who founded the CWHL, where she would play for a further five years.[4] In 2007 and 2008, she won the Clarkson Cup with Brampton. In 2010, she left Brampton to sign with the newly formed Boston Blades, the first American CWHL team.[5]
Post-playing career
Cronin served as a goaltending coach for the University of Toronto under Vicky Sunohara, and has served as a goaltending coach for USA Hockey.[6] In 2019, she was named the general manager of the Buffalo Beauts, being one of three women currently holding GM posts in the NWHL.[7] Her appointment came after most of the Beauts' roster left to join the PWHPA and Pegula Sports and Entertainment gave up their ownership of the team.[8] In 2020, Cronin was announced as the general manager of the expansion Toronto Six.[9]
