Jiya Shankar (born 10 October 1995) is an Indian television actress and model known for playing Dr. Iravati "Ira" Pandey (née Desai) in Meri Hanikarak Biwi and Susheela Ruhail in Kaatelal & Sons.

Early life

Jiya Shankar was born on 10 October 1995 in Mumbai, Maharastra. She always dreamt of becoming an actor and started giving auditions, at an early age of 16, as a teenager.[1]

Career

Shankar made her acting debut in 2013, in Telugu film named Entha Andanga Unnave starring alongside Ajay Manthena.[2] Later in 2017, she appeared in a Tamil film named Kanavu Variyam opposite Arun Chidambaram.[3]

Shankar made her television debut, in 2015, as Alisha Rai with Bindass's Love by Chance opposite Karan Singhmar.[4] She continued to play episodic lead roles in few episodic series such as Gumrah: End of Innocence Season 4 [5] and Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.[6]

Shankar made her first television outbreak, in 2016, by playing one of the leads Shreya Dixit Rathore[7] in & TV's Queens Hain Hum.

From 2017–2019, she again played the lead, as Dr. Iravati "Ira" Pandey (née Desai) in & TV's Meri Hanikarak Biwi opposite Karan Suchak.[8]

Shankar is currently seen as Susheela Ruhail / Sattu opposite Paras Arora in Sab TV's Kaatelal & Sons.[9]
