Garden Suburb is a town in the Lake Macquarie council in New South Wales. It is located 2 kilometres East of Cardiff.
History
The Aboriginal people, in this area, the Awabakal, were the first people of this land. [2]
The area had orchards and market gardens before it was developed in the 1950s. The public school opened in 1958. The area was formerly named Cherryville.[citation needed]
Tickhole Creek flows through the area, meeting Winding Creek at Cardiff.
