Abraham de Villiers

Abraham de Villiers was a French Huguenot refugee, residing in the Cape of Good Hope in South Africa. In 1715, he was an early owner of one the oldest wine estates in the Cape, Boschendal.
Abraham de Villiers sold the farm to his brother Jacques in 1717. The De Villiers family farmed Boschendal until 1879. In 1812 Paul de Villiers and his wife, Anna Susanna Louw, completed a new house at Boschendal on the site of his father's home.
Trivia
Abraham de Villiers is most probably a forefather of the current South African star cricketer, AB de Villiers, as baptised naming in the Afrikaner culture rely heavily on repeating the names of their forefathers.
