Agathon Carl Theodor Fabergé

Agathon Karlovich Fabergé (February 1876 – 20 October 1951) was a Russian goldsmith and philatelist. He was the son of Peter Carl Fabergé of the House of Fabergé.

Early life

Agathon Karlovich Fabergé was born in February 1876 in Saint Petersburg, Russia, the second son of Peter Carl Fabergé of the House of Fabergé. He was educated at the German Petrischule in St. Petersburg and in the commercial department of the Wiedemann gymnasium.^[1]

Career

Agathon joined the family firm of Fabergé in 1894. From 1898 he was employed as an expert in the Diamond Room of the Winter Palace in St. Petersburg.^[1]

Philately

Fabergé formed a leading collection of Russian Zemstvo stamps.^[2]

Death and legacy

Fabergé died in Helsinki^[1] on 20 October 1951. He was buried in the family grave at the Hietaniemi Cemetery.
