Aggi Barata (English: Fire Blast) is a 1966 Telugu swashbuckling adventure fantasy film, produced and directed by B. Vittalacharya under the Sri Vital Combines banner.[3][4] It stars N. T. Rama Rao and Rajasree in the lead roles,[5] with music composed by Vijaya Krishna Murthy.[6][7]
Plot
Once upon a time, there was a Kingdom called Amaravathi, ruled by King Amarasimha (Mikkilineni). His chief commander Gajapathi (S. V. Ramadas) is a demonic person who has bad intentions to eliminate the king, marry his only daughter Vasavi (Rajasri) and grab the kingdom. Once Gajapathi catches a dacoit Ranga Raju, kills him and in his guise, Gajapathi does a lot of atrocities in the kingdom. When he attacks a village, Ramanapalem, a young dynamic guy Raja (N. T. Rama Rao) chases him out of the village. Meanwhile, Amarasimha goes on hunting, Gajapathi sets fire to his tent, a few loyal aides of Amarasimha protect him and hide him secretly in a cave. Gajapathi takes over the reign of kingdom even though the kingdom is under the princess's name. After some time, annual competitions are held in the fort, when Raja suspects Gajapathi's dual face. Raja defeats Gajapathi and acquires the title Aggi Barata, princess Vasavi loves Raja at first sight. She secretly meets him, explains her situation, the state of affairs and cruelties of Gajapathi. Raja promises that he will protect her and the Kingdom and both of them fall in love. Meanwhile, Raja’s maternal uncle Bham Bham Basaviah (Ramana Reddy), who left the house in childhood comes back as a great magician. On the outskirts of their village, there lives a powerful wizard Konda Buchodu (Mukkamala). The villagers provoke Basaviah to beat Konda Bhuchodu, but Basaviah fails. Eventually, Gajapathi plans to marry Vasavi forcibly. At that time, rescuers of the king kidnap Raja and take him to the cave without revealing his identity. The King reveals the double face of Gajapathi and appoints him as protector of the kingdom to stamp out Gajapathi. Raja rescues Vasavi and takes her along with him to the cave, where she recognizes her father Amarashimha. Simultaneously, Gajapathi sets fire to Raja’s village and when Raja goes to their rescue, Gajapathi catches him, tortures him very badly, and throws him in the river. Gajapathi notices the secret cave and imprisons the King along with the Princess. He keeps Konda Bhuchodu as security so that no one can enter the fort. Raja is saved by Basavaiah and with his help, Raja enters the fort. Basaviah intelligently kills Konda Bhuchodu and Raja eliminates Gajapathi. Finally, Amarasimha crowns Raja as his heir and the movie ends on a happy note with the marriage of Raja and Vasavi.
