Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo
Akachi Adimora-Ezeigbo is a Nigerian author and educator, whose published work includes novels, poetry, short stories, books for children, essays and journalism.[1] She is the winner of several awards in Nigeria, including the Nigeria Prize for Literature.[2]
Biography
Adimora-Ezeigbo was born in Eastern Nigeria, gaining a BA and MA in English from the University of Lagos and a PhD from the University of Ibadan. She started teaching at the University of Lagos in 1981 and became professor of English in 1999. She has taught in this university, in the Department of English, since 1981.
She is the author of several books, including novels, collections of short stories and children’s books. Among the awards she has received in Nigeria is the Nigeria Prize for Literature, of which she was joint winner in 2007 for her children's book My Cousin Sammy.[2][3]
Personal life
She is married to Professor Chris Ezeigbo and they have three children.[4]
