On 5 November 2023, the Israel Defense Forces bombed al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip with an airstrike. At least 40 people were killed, who were mostly women and children.[1][2][3] The Israeli bombing destroyed the Sam'an family's home in the refugee camp and caused severe damage to neighboring homes and infrastructure. This took place during the Israeli invasion of the Gaza Strip and 2023 Israel–Hamas war.[4] The Gaza Health Ministry stated that more than 30 dead people arrived in Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in Deir Al-Balah following the massacre.[5]
