Career

Born in Teixeira de Freitas, Alex played in the youth categories of Grêmio, before moving to Serbian club Teleoptik in August 2008. After two seasons of playing with them, he returned to his homeland by signing a short-term contract with Fluminense in August 2010.[1] Alex later renewed his contract with Fluminense until the end of the 2012 season.[2] In January 2011, he was loaned out to Internacional.[3] In January 2012, Alex was sent on loan to Romanian club Concordia Chiajna. In July 2012, he was sent on loan to Romania again, this time to Universitatea Cluj.[4]

In February 2013, after his contract with Fluminense expired, Alex signed with Tombense. He also played with América de Natal as a loaned player, before transferring to Romania for the third time, on a season-long loan to Pandurii Târgu Jiu in August 2013. In June 2014, Alex moved to Portugal by joining Primeira Liga newcomers Moreirense on another season-long loan.[5] He was subsequently loaned to Turkish side Yeni Malatyaspor in July 2015.[6]
