Allyson Aires dos Santos (born 23 October 1990), simply known as Allyson, is a Brazilian professional footballer who plays as a defender for Cuiabá.
Career
[edit]Born in São Paulo, Allyson started his career with hometown side Nacional-SP in 2012, playing in the Campeonato Paulista Segunda Divisão.
He joined Grêmio Barueri on loan, where he was a regular starter in the 2013 Campeonato Paulista Série A2. He made his league debut for the club against Santacruzense on the 23 January 2013.[1]
He signed for Independente de Limeira on 21 August 2013.[2] He made his league debut for Independente SP against Francana on the 2 February 2014.[3] He scored his first league goal for the club against Tupa FC on the 6 February 2014, scoring in the 49th minute.[4]
In December 2014, after establishing himself as an undisputed starter at Independente, Allyson went on a trial at Mexican club Atlante,[5] but a permanent move never materialized and he returned to Independente.
On 17 July 2015, he joined Maccabi Petah Tikva of the Israeli Premier League. Allyson made his league debut abroad on 22 August 2015, in a 1–0 away win against Maccabi Netanya.[6]
On 28 May 2017, after being a first-choice, he moved to fellow league team Maccabi Haifa on a three-year contract. He made his league debut for the club against Bnei Yehuda on the 21 August 2017.[7]
After losing his starting spot, Allyson joined Bnei Yehuda also in the Israeli first division on 17 September 2019. He made his league debut for the club on the 21 September 2019 against Sektzia Ness Ziona.[8] He scored his first league goal for the club against Maccabi Tel Aviv on the 12 September 2020, scoring in the 89th minute.[9]
On 23 June 2021, he moved to Bandırmaspor of the Turkish TFF First League.[10] He made his league debut for the club against Denizlispor on the 14 August 2021.[11]
On 20 June 2022, Allyson signed a contract with Süper Lig side Ümraniyespor.[12] He made his league debut for the club against Fenerbahçe on the 8 August 2022.[13]
On 6 April 2023, he returned to his home country after nearly eight years, after being announced at Série A side Cuiabá.[14] He made his league debut for the club against Palmeiras on the 15 April 2023.[15]
