Ambrella is a monotypic genus in the orchid family.[1] The single species, Ambrella longituba is endemic to Madagascar, and very rare, possibly extinct.[2] It is known only from the type specimen collected and described by Joseph Marie Henry Alfred Perrier de la Bâthie in 1934.[3]
